The Jesse White Tumblers, which recently celebrated 60 years, are legendary in the Midwest. The Chicago-based team was founded in 1959 by athlete Jesse White. Almost 11,000 young men and women have performed with the team over the course of the last six decades.

The founder’s legend extends beyond sports and into politics. The Honorable Jesse White has served as the Illinois Secretary of State for twenty years, and is the longest serving and first African-American to hold the position.
